Recommend Board ratify Charles Adams as Alternative Evening High School Science Teacher, at the rate of $40.00 per hour for the 2022-2023 school year effective February 15, 2023.  Mr. Adams is replacing Joseph Bell. (attachment)
 
2) Science Teacher-Thomas E. Bowe Middle School
Recommend Board approval of Stacy Smith, pending receipt of certification within 60 days of BOE approval, completion of 50 hours of a CE Education Preparation Program, and a positive criminal history background check, as Science Teacher, BA Step 1, at Thomas E. Bowe School at an annual prorated salary of $53,072.00 for the 2022-2023 school year.  Start date to be determined.  Ms. Smith is replacing Denise Barr due to resignation. (attachment)

Recommend Board approval of Gabriella Hernandez, pending a positive criminal history background check, as an Associate Aide at CST/GHS in the position of 1:1 Aide for the 2022-2023 school year, 5.5 hours per day, Tuesdays, Thursdays & Fridays, Step 1, at a rate of $15.99 per hour.  Start date to be determined.  Ms. Hernandez is replacing Lauryn Satchell due to resignation. Recommend Board approval of Jose Cardona, pending receipt of certification and a positive criminal history background check, as Special Education Teacher, MA Step 1, at Dorothy L. Bullock School at an annual prorated salary of $58,672.00 for the 2022-2023 school year.  Start date to be determined.  Mr. Cardona will serve as a Substitute Teacher prior to receipt of certification and criminal history results.  He is replacing Anastasia Sorkin due to resignation. Recommend Board approval of the New Jersey Department of Education Equivalency Application.  The district is seeking to use the in-house MAP benchmark test rather than the NJSLA as an “alternate means” to achieve proficiency.  The NWEA MAP test is a nationally normed, highly regarded assessment that the district has used since 2019.
