2. Handle With Care Training
Recommend Board approval to include the  following staff members to be trained in Hande With Care physical restraint techniques as required by District Policy 5561, effective July 27, 2026. This policy required identified staff to be trained yearly in deescalation and restraint techniques. Training during the summer reduces the time staff is out of the classroom and the number of substitutes needed to complete the training sessions.
 
Certificated staff will be compensated at the hourly rate of $45.00.

3. Home Instruction Services
Recommend Board approval of certificated staff to provide home instruction services to students, as needed, for the 2026-2027 school year at the rate of $45.00 per hour. Students that are identified as needing home instruction will be provided services throughout the school year in accordance with NJAC 6A:16. Students receiving home instruction are provided 10 hours of services per week; 5 hours are direct instruction and 5 hours are asynchronous learning.
 
4.Revised Paraprofessional/Security Aide Evaluations
Recommend Board approval of the revised Paraprofessional and Security Aide Evaluation Forms for the 2026-2027 school year. Both documents have been updated to better align with the Districts PRIDE initiative and have been reviewed and accepted by the GESPA bargaining unit.

Recommend Board ratify compensation for Ginger Sinning to provide staff coverage for the extended vacancy of the Secretary of Operations and Transportation position at a stipend amount of $800.00 per week, effective August 13, 2026, until the position is filled. Due to the extended nature of this vacancy, it is critical to utilize knowledgeable staff who can promptly fulfill the role in an efficient and organized manner.

Recommend Board ratify compensating the following staff members for completion of the Rutgers Job Coach Training on August 26, 2026 and August 27, 2026 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at their contracted hourly rate, not to exceed $1,400.00.To provide the most successful transition from school to employment, it is essential for schools utilizing Community-Based Instruction (CBI) for career exploration to have well-trained and prepared staff. This two-day training will describe the roles and responsibilities of school-based staff, or job coaches, who provide on-the-job support to students participating in work-based learning experiences in community settings. The training will provide an overview of disability history, the evolution away from segregated to integrated employment settings, person-centered approaches, evidence-based strategies including the application of direct and systematic instruction used at job sites, data collection, and use of data for informed decision-making.

Each presenter will be compensated in accordance with the previously approved Summer Teacher Academy compensation structure, receiving 4.5 hours total (3 hours of preparation and 1.5 hours of presentation) at the contractual rate of $45.00 per hour.
 
This request is consistent with the Board's prior approval of the Summer Teacher Academy and reflects the need for additional presenters as registration and staffing needs have been finalized. All costs will continue to be funded through Title II Funds and remain within the previously approved program budget.
 
4. District Attendance Policy Family Letter
Recommend Board approval for the distribution of an attendance policy letter to all district families during the 2026–2027 school year. The letter will provide families with information regarding district attendance expectations, the importance of regular school attendance, and procedures for reporting student absences. The communication will support increased family awareness and promote consistent student attendance. (attachment)
5. District-Wide Family Attendance Survey
Recommend Board approval for the distribution of an online Google Form attendance survey to all district families during the 2026–2027 school year. The survey will gather family feedback regarding student attendance, barriers to regular school attendance, and factors that may impact students’ ability to attend school consistently. Survey results will be used to inform district planning, family engagement efforts, and strategies to support improved student attendance. (attachment)
 
6. BPAC Parent Involvement
Recommend Board approval of payment for a total of 36 hours to be divided among four (4) staff members for participation in up to three (3) Bilingual Parent Advisory Committee meetings during the 2026–2027 school year. Staff members will be compensated at a rate of $45.00 per hour in accordance with the current GEA agreement. Funding will be provided through Title III funds.
 
7. Family Literacy/Math/Curriculum Nights
